The journey between Riyadh and Madinah is about 850 km and usually takes eight to nine hours. In a private car you travel at your own pace, stop for prayer and rest when you need to, and arrive at your hotel near Masjid an-Nabawi.
The fare is fixed per vehicle and the same in both directions, so a family of four pays 1,000 SAR between them in a Camry, from Riyadh to Madinah or Madinah to Riyadh.

The journey between Riyadh and Madinah is around 850 km. The usual route runs north-west out of Riyadh towards the Qassim region and then west across the desert to Madinah. It is a long motorway drive with good rest areas along the way.
Allow eight to nine hours including stops. Arriving in Madinah in the afternoon or evening gives you time to settle into your hotel before visiting Masjid an-Nabawi.
Many hotels around Masjid an-Nabawi have restricted vehicle access at busy times. Your driver knows the area and will bring you as close to your hotel entrance as the roads allow, and help with your luggage.
Prices are one way, per vehicle, and the same in both directions. On a long drive, choose a vehicle with room to spare — a Staria for a family of five with luggage is far more comfortable than a full Camry.
