Almost every pilgrim makes this journey once, and many make it twice. It is the longest drive of the trip, it usually happens with luggage and tired children, and it is the one leg where the difference between a private car and everything else is felt most.

We run it in both directions, hotel door to hotel door. Your driver collects you from your hotel in one city and leaves you at the entrance of your hotel in the other — no transfer points, no waiting for a vehicle to fill, and no dragging cases across a station concourse at either end.

Two ways to make the journey

What the journey is like

1. Collection from your hotel At the time you choose. Pilgrims often travel after Fajr or late at night to avoid the heat, and neither costs extra.
2. Stops when you need them Prayer stops, rest stops, a meal if you want one. The driver waits. There is no schedule pushing you back into the car.
3. The vehicle is yours alone Nobody else is picked up along the way. Your family travels together with your luggage in the same vehicle.
4. Dropped at your hotel entrance Not at a station, not at a depot. The fare you were quoted covers the whole journey, door to door.

Entering ihram on the way to Makkah

If you are travelling from Madinah to Makkah for Umrah, your meeqat is Dhul Hulayfah — Masjid Aisha at Abyar Ali, a short distance outside Madinah on the road south. Pilgrims normally stop there to change and pray before continuing.

Tell us when you book that you intend to enter ihram, and the stop is built into the journey with time to change and pray. It is not an extra we charge for, and it is far easier than asking a driver to turn back for it once you are on the highway.

We arrange the stop and the timing. For questions about the rulings of ihram itself, ask your group leader or a scholar — that is not something a transport company should be advising on.

Car or the Haramain train?

Some pilgrims take the high-speed train instead, and for a solo traveller with one bag it is a reasonable choice. For a family it is usually not, and the reason is what happens at either end rather than the journey itself.

If you do take the train, we run the station transfers at both ends — that is a service in its own right, and it is on our price list.

Choosing your vehicle

The fare is for the whole vehicle, not per person. On a four-hour drive, space matters more than it does on a twenty-minute airport run — a Camry that four people fit into comfortably for a short transfer is a long afternoon on this road.

Booking the journey

Message us with the direction, the date, roughly what time you want to leave, and how many are travelling. Say if you want the Badr route and whether anyone is entering ihram. We reply with a fixed fare, usually within minutes.

This is the leg that sells out first in peak season, because every pilgrim in the country is making it in the same weeks. Between October and January, and through Ramadan, book it as early as you can.
